He's known for his action-packed movie roles.

But even Bruce Willis has a soft side, as evident in his recent public displays of affection.

Showing his love for his wife Emma Heming, the Die Hard star was seen romantically holding her hand as the two strolled into their midtown hotel in New York City on Friday.

In his other hand, the scruffy-faced star carried a bottle of water, making sure to stay hydrated in the humid city.

Dressed down, the 58-year-old actor wore a faded olive green V-neck, distressed denim trousers, and a pair of black-and-white Nike kicks.

His wife appeared a bit more glammed up for their Manhattan day date.

The 34-year-old English model/actress sported a sleeveless blue button-down blouse atop a fitted white tank top that she paired with slim khaki trousers and pale blue flats.

Her dark brunette locks were styled down in loose waves, as she jazzed up her ensemble with a dangling chain necklace, structured taupe shoulder bag and tortoise shells sunglasses.

Both Emma and Bruce flashed smiles for the camera as they went from their big black SUV to their temporary residence.

The couple have been married since March 2009, and have a daughter together, Mabel Ray Willis, who they welcomed in April 2012.

Prior to this marriage, the Looper actor was married to 50-year-old actress Demi Moore.

From that marriage, he has three daughters, Rumer, 24, Scout, 21, and Tallulah Willis, 19.

As any actor will attest, the acting industry is tough to break into. But there are even more challenges once you break through, Lucy Liu has confessed.

In an exclusive interview she talks about the typecasting and racism she's faced. 

'I wish people wouldn’t just see me as the Asian girl who beats everyone up, or the Asian girl with no emotion. People see Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock in a romantic comedy, but not me. You add race to it, and it became, "Well, she’s too Asian", or, "She’s too American". 

'I kind of got pushed out of both categories. It’s a very strange place to be. You’re not Asian enough and then you’re not American enough, so it gets really frustrating.'

'I can’t say that there is no racism - there’s definitely something there that’s not easy, which makes [an acting career] much more difficult,' she says.

When quizzed on her love life, Liu shows she's no wiser than the rest of us when it comes to guessing relationship status when in uncertain territory.

 

'It’s a mixed bag right now... It’s a giant question mark for me, as well. I wish I could answer - I wish I knew the answer myself,' the Charlie’s Angels actress says.

In the past she has talked of wanting children, but says: 'It just hasn’t happened yet,' adding that she might do it alone at some point.

In a photo shoot for the eye-opening interview for this week’s Net-A-Porter digital magazine, Liu features in stunning pictures wearing elegantly sculpted graphic dresses and separates by Gucci, Lanvin, Hervé Léger, Maison Martin Margiela and Burberry Prorsum.

In her latest role she plays a female Dr Watson in the CBS television series, Elementary, the most recent reboot of Sherlock Holmes. 

'It was a challenge,' she says.

'It's so steeped in history, you want to keep that temperature, but acclimatise people to something new you're shifting them towards.'

When asked to reflect on her favourite roles her answer is Lucky Number Slevin with Josh Hartnett and Watching The Detectives, two movies she admits 'not many people' have seen. 

'Both are special to me because I didn't have to do any kind of action or karate kicks. It was just about the acting, and I was able to stretch my muscles in them,' she says.

'Well, figuratively, anyway.'

The 46-year-old actress is expecting her second child, her first with French fiance Oliver Martinez, this fall.

Berry has said she was shocked when she found out she was pregnant for a second time, as she simply thought she had kidney stones.

 

'I was at the doctor's when they told me and I was completely shocked,' she told Hello! magazine last month. 'I didn't see it coming. I went to the doctor because I thought I had kidney stones or something.' 

But she and her husband-to-be were thrilled at the news. 'Olivier and I have always wanted to be parents, but I didn't want to get my hopes up.'

Hopefully the new child will bring continued peace to the modern family's household. Last Thanksgiving Nahla's father Gabriel Aubry and Martinez got in a bunch up in Berry's driveway.

And one thing's for sure - she's adamant she'll get to her latest destination comfortably if her super dressed down outfit is anything to go by.
